The inclusion of Simulated Patients (SPs) in health professional communication skills teaching (CST) is growing internationally.
This workshop aims to describe a range of skills & strategies which will enable trainers and SPs to work collaboratively during experiential sessions to ensure that the individual learner’s agenda is prioritised and learning maximised.
At the end of this workshop, participants will be able to describe the importance of:
o overt and covert communication between SP and facilitator,
o managing vague or generalised feedback
o calibrating emotion
o handling critical feedback
