When you click on a tool title, you will see a general description of the tool which includes information about who it was designed for and suggestions for use. You can download the tool and adapt for your own learners.

All of the tools have been peer-reviewed by members of the tEACH committee. We are constantly updating the resources. Logged in EACH members may share a tool here.  Non members who would like to share a tool should contact Lynn Furber or Eva Doherty.

tEACH has collected and developed a variety of resources on how to assess communication skills of health care learners. They include:

  • A concise introduction on the general principles for the assessment of communication skills.
  • Detailed descriptions of existing assessment tools used in health professional education.
  • Access to some of the actual tools.

All tools are in PDF format and include facilitator guides, PowerPoint, simulated patient cases and can be accessed via the teaching resource database.

tEACH has collected and developed resources related to broad approaches to communication skills teaching.  With these resources teachers in all health care disciplines may develop, refine and evaluate what should be taught as part of their own communication curriculum.  They include:

  • Communication models
  • Curriculum models

All tools are in PDF format and include facilitator guides, PowerPoint, simulated patient cases and can be accessed via the resource database.

The Health Professions Core Communication Curriculum (HPCCC) was developed by tEACH and is based on a European consensus among 121 experts. It lists 61 core learning objectives for undergraduate education in the various health care professions but it can also be used inter-professionally. The HPCCC has been translated into 9 languages: (English, French, German, Greek, Italian, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian and Spanish).

  • Videos of real and simulated patient encounters to be used in teaching.
