Aim: The project is aimed at collecting successful experiences of knowledge translation that can be shared with the wider EACH community as a way of learning from each other.

Output: The project started in 2019, it is ongoing.

It was born from the awareness of a huge worldwide effort to improve the provision of healthcare through more effective communication, which however is not organized and seldom informed by strong evidence.

The scope of the project is international, as it aims to collect examples of successful implementation projects that could serve as inspiration for colleagues anywhere around the world.

The people involved are current EACH members, who are sharing their expertise in implementation efforts.

We expect to create a searchable database with examples of implementation projects, which might spark further interest in the process of implementation and lead to new projects and collaborations with political and healthcare bodies.

Project Lead: Edgard Eckman

Aim: The aim of this project in three keywords is to ‘collate – respond – develop’ policy documents on healthcare communication. Our aim is to: 1. Collect relevant policy documents issued by other institutional bodies on communication in healthcare; 2. Design a process/framework to guide EACH in responding to such documents; 3. Develop EACH’s own policy documents and guidelines.

Output: The project started in 2019, it is ongoing.

It was born from the awareness that many institutional bodies are issuing guidelines or policy statements on healthcare communication, not EACH. We think this is a gap that should be filled.

The scope of the project is international, as it aims to collect examples of policy documents from around the world.

The people involved are current EACH members.

As a short-term goal, we expect to create a searchable database with the collected policy documents. A medium-term goal will be the design of a template for responding to such documents; while the long-term goal is to create templates and procedures to produce EACH policy documents and guidelines, thereby contributing to raising EACH’s profile internationally.

pEACH calls on all members of EACH to deliver at least one policy document. Filling in the template takes a maximum of 5 minutes. The completed template together with the policy document preferably in pdf format should be sent to project leader Edgard Eeckman.

Project Lead: Conor Gilligan

Aim: One of the first pEACH projects, it aims to produce summary position papers on big issues in healthcare communication to serve as ready-to-use resources to engage non-academic stakeholders. The authors of the evidence snapshots are internationally acknowledged experts on the topic they are asked to summarize.

Output: The project started in 2015, it is ongoing.

It was born from the awareness of the difficulties academics may have when trying to involve other stakeholders in projects or initiatives around main issues that have to do with healthcare communication.

The scope of the project is international, as it provides resources that are valid across countries and cultures because they are based on current research.

The people involved are current EACH members, while the authors of the evidence snapshots may also be non-members.

This project constitutes an ongoing effort to produce a growing body of resources to facilitate interaction between academic and non-academic actors in the healthcare sector.

Project Lead: Sarah Bigi

Aim: A development of the Bullet Points project, this Series will provide a ‘state-of-the-art’ account on the topics summarized in the bullet points.

Output: The project has been discussed since 2015, it has started in 2019 and it is ongoing.

As a complement to the Bullet Points, the papers in this series will provide a lengthier discussion of each topic and will be drafted by the same authors of the Bullet Points.
The scope of the project is international.

The people involved are current EACH members, while the authors of the bullet points may also be non-members.

This project constitutes an ongoing effort to produce a growing body of resources to facilitate interaction between academic and non-academic actors in the healthcare sector.

As they are completed, the position papers will appear in the journal Patient Education and Counseling and on the pEACH Resources page.
