This course is directed towards educators of health professional learners at any level (students, postgraduate learners, practicing health care providers)  who wish to develop a new curriculum or enhance an existing curriculum focused on clinical communication skills.

The course will explore how to develop a curriculum suitable to the healthcare setting each participant operates within, what to include in the curriculum and how to deliver, and evaluate the curriculum.  The course combines large group interactive sessions presenting theory and concrete steps in developing curricula with small group sessions where participants work on their individual curriculum development needs.

Wir sind uns bewusst, dass Institutionen in verschiedenen Ländern über unterschiedliche Ressourcen in Bezug auf verfügbare Lehrer, simulierte Patienten und Technologie verfügen und berücksichtigen dies bei der Unterstützung. Der Kurs wird sehr interaktiv und teilnehmerzentriert sein und es den einzelnen Teilnehmern ermöglichen, konkrete Pläne für die Zukunft zu formulieren. .

Kursziele

Als Ergebnis dieses Kurses werden die Teilnehmer in der Lage sein:

• select and organize the core content of the communication curriculum tailor content to their learners’ needs

Course facilitators have extensive experience in curriculum development, facilitating Train the Trainers Courses for health professions educators and teaching health professional learners at all levels.

Moderatoren

Marcy Rosenbaum, PhD, is Professor of Family Medicine at the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine in the US.  She is currently the President of EACH and former co-chair of tEACH, the teaching committee of EACH.  She has conducted research on and taught about clinical communication and medical education for over 30 years and oversees communication skills curriculum for students, residents and practicing clinicians. She has provided faculty development related to communication skills teaching and curriculum all over the world.

Jane Ege Møller, PhD, is Associate Professor at Department of Clinical Medicine, Aarhus University in Denmark and the Academic Lead of the clinical communication skills courses for residents in Central Denmark Region. She is currently the co-chair of tEACH, the teaching committee of EACH International Association of Communication in Healthcare. She has more than 15 years of experience as a researcher and teacher in the field of clinical communication and medical education.
