Balint groups and medical education, cultivating empathy

this presentation will provide a brief description of Balint Groups for those who are not familiar as well as research  evidence about how Balint groups help increase empathy and develop patient-centeredness.

Jessica Leao is a Brazilian Family Doctor, Professor, and Researcher at the University of São Paulo. She has a MSc in Education in Health Professions and she is a Ph.D. student researching Balint Groups and their effects on medical graduates. Jessica is a Balint Group Leader credited for the International Balint Federation.
