Beschreibung

Drei Schlüsselwörter, die Fachwissen und Interesse beschreiben:
  1. Clinical nutrition
  2. Healthcare communication
Beschreibung des Fachgebiets, der Interessenschwerpunkte und der Beratungsthemen:

My expertise lies at the intersection of healthcare communication, clinical nutrition, and person-centred care. I am particularly interested in how healthcare professionals and patients communicate about health, food, treatment goals, and behaviour change, and how communication influences care processes and outcomes.
My research interests include patient-professional communication, person-centred practice, shared decision-making, goal setting, implementation of evidence-based practice, digital healthcare, and the organisation of healthcare services. I also have extensive experience in nutrition care, dietetics, healthcare documentation, and the use of professional frameworks and terminology in clinical practice.
I welcome discussions about qualitative and mixed-methods research, developing interdisciplinary projects, implementation research, building international collaborations, doctoral studies and academic careers, supervision, and conducting research that bridges clinical practice and academia. I am particularly happy to connect with colleagues interested in communication in healthcare, dietetics, allied health professions, and person-centred approaches to care.

Kurze Biografie:

I am professor of Food Studies, Nutrition and Dietetics at Uppsala University, Sweden, and a registered dietitian. Throughout my career, I have been interested in the intersection between healthcare, communication, and the everyday realities of food and eating. My research explores how healthcare professionals and patients communicate about food, health, and treatment goals, and how communication shapes care experiences and outcomes.

My work spans clinical nutrition, healthcare communication, person-centred care, and implementation research. I have studied topics such as dietitians’ documentation practices, goal setting in nutrition care, patient experiences of illness-related changes in taste and smell, and the implementation of professional frameworks and terminology in healthcare. I am particularly interested in how evidence-based healthcare can be translated into meaningful and relevant conversations with patients.

I supervise doctoral students and lead both national and international research initiatives. I am principal investigator of the International Nutrition Care Process and Terminology Implementation Survey (INIS), a global collaboration involving researchers and dietitians from more than 20 countries. I also direct InSyNC, a Swedish national doctoral school focused on sustainable nutrition care and health.

I enjoy collaborating across disciplinary and professional boundaries and learning from colleagues with different perspectives. Through research, teaching, and supervision, I aim to contribute to healthcare that is evidence-based, person-centred, and responsive to people’s everyday lives.
