A webinar hosted by the EACH Special Interest Group on Healthcare Communication Education Research.

We are delighted to invite you to our next EACH HCER SIG webinar:

📅 April 23rd | 8:00 AM BST(UK) | 9:00 AM CEST/MESZ | 1 hour | Online

How do we equip future healthcare professionals with essential communication skills — without overwhelming them with an ever-growing number of models and frameworks?

In this session, based on the Calgary-Cambridge-Model, we present two complementary educational tools developed at the University of Bern in response to this challenge: the BECOM (Best Evidence Compassionate Communication) framework and CORE process tool (a communication process tool grounded in the Glasgow Consensus Statement and Kolb’s experiential learning cycle). Both aim to offer under- and postgraduate learners a memorable, integrative structure applicable across a broad range of clinical encounters.

Both tools are still in development — and your expertise matters. This webinar will combine a brief introduction to each framework with structured discussion. We warmly invite you to share your perspectives and help shape these tools for the international community.

Join us to:

  • Get an early look at two emerging educational frameworks in healthcare communication
  • Compare BECOM and CORE against established models you know and use
  • Contribute expert feedback that will directly inform their further development
  • Connect with international colleagues working on similar challenges

All EACH members and colleagues are welcome. We look forward to your critical and constructive input!

Speakers: Sibylle Felber, M.Sc., and Prof. Steffen Eychmüller, MD, University Center for Palliative Care, University Hospital Bern and University Bern.
