The practitioner coding framework includes 61 possible categories of practitioner verbal behaviour (e.g., ‘facilitate goals setting’) of which 53 categories represent BCTs in the smoking cessation taxonomy (Michie et al., 2011). The client coding framework includes 57 types of client statement s(e.g., ‘sets goals’), of which 50 corresponded to practitioner-delivered BCTs.
