Elections are held every two years. Details of how to apply will be advertised when applications are due.
President-Elect
The position of President-Elect is open to all members of EACH although candidates with some experience within the Advisory Committee or one of the sub-committees will be preferred. The ideal candidate:
- has been a member of EACH for at least three years
- has considerable personal experience in research, teaching, policy, or all three related to communication in healthcare
- will be able to fulfill all the responsibilities of the President-Elect, President and Past President (a role that lasts 6 years in total) complying with the expenses procedures for the executive and without embarrassing EACH financially
- is fluent in English (both written & spoken)
Additional desirable qualities include:
- previously undertaken an active role within the association, e.g.
- a member of the EACH advisory committee
- chair, deputy chair or member of a sub-committee (rEACH, tEACH or pEACH)
- a member of the EACH hosted International Conference in Communication in Healthcare (ICCH)
- experience within leadership and management

Treasurer
The position of Treasurer is open to all members of EACH. The ideal candidate has:
- been a member of EACH for at least two years
- experience in research, teaching and/or policy in the field of communication in healthcare
- is fluent in English (both written & spoken)
- is available for six, bi-monthly, online Executive Committee meetings, during UK office hours, every year
Additional desirable qualities include:
- experience in financial administration and accounting procedures
- previously undertaken an active role within the association, e.g. as
- a member of the advisory committee
- chair, co-chair or active member of a sub-committee
- a member of the EACH hosted International Conference on Communication in Healthcare (ICCH)

Nominations from both categories will be shortlisted for interview by the EACH Nomination Committee. The EACH Nomination Committee is chaired by the current President-Elect, Marcy Rosenbaum, and made up of volunteers from the EACH Advisory Committee. The EACH Nomination Committee will then propose their preferred candidate to the EACH Executive for approval before seeking acceptance from the whole EACH membership at the Annual General Meeting of members in September 2020.
