 ational movement.\nSpeakers:\nDr. Karolien van den Brekel-Dijkstra works a
 s a general practitioner (Utrecht\, the Netherlands) and as a trainer for 
 the Institute for Positive Health (iPH). In Dr. van den Brekel’s work\, 
 health is the starting point and the person is at the centre. Karolien is 
 involved in research\, education\, and healthcare innovation in the fields
  of prevention and Positive Health\, locally\, regionally\, nationally and
  since 2022 internationally. She founded Positive Health International\, w
 ith the aim of promoting the Positive Health movement beyond the Netherlan
 ds.\n\nPositive Health has been a guiding thread throughout her life\, pro
 viding resilience to deal with life’s challenges across different cultur
 es and countries. During the ten years Karolien lived and worked abroad (N
 ew York\, Munich\, Osaka\, Dublin)\, she learned that diseases are the sam
 e everywhere\, but the way people deal with them differs by culture and co
 untry. She completed her PhD at New York University/University Medical Cen
 ter Utrecht and has about 20 years of experience as a GP in the Netherland
 s. Dr. van den Brekel is co-author of Handbook Positive Health in General 
 Practice: Working Together Towards Meaningful Care (Handbook – Positive

 ctive communication teaching and learning in health care. During her PhD r
 esearch on how medical students develop patient centredness\, she got invo
 lved in small group\, simulation-based teaching at the communication skill
 s lab of the University of Antwerp (UA\, Belgium).\n\nFrom 2017 on\, she i
 s responsible for the communication curriculum of the undergraduate medica
 l school (UA) and promotes educational research based on qualitative metho
 ds. Internationally\, she is involved in tEACH\, the teaching subcommittee
  of EACH. Apart from teaching and research\, she remains practicing patien
 t-centred communication as a general practitioner in Antwerp. Resilience\,
  meaningful care and Positive Health are at the heart of her interdiscipli
 nary group practice (Gezondheidspraktijk Valaar). In 2025\, she became a t
