DESCRIPTION:Who Should Attend\nThe course is directed towards teachers of h
 ealth professionals (for example medical students\, nurses\, physiotherapi
 sts\, doctors) and we would encourage teachers with a variety of experienc
 e of experiential learning to apply.\n“How to Teach” Course\nThis thre
 e day\, non-residential course will be highly interactive\, participant-c
 entred and experiential. It will be facilitated by experienced teachers fr
 om the teaching committee of EACH: International Association of Communicat
 ion in Healthcare. Feedback from previous courses has been extremely posit
 ive.\n\nThe course will be held in English and as much as possible will ac
 commodate participants for whom English is not their first language. We ar
 e also aware that different institutions in different countries will have 
 varying resources in terms of available teachers\, simulated patients and 
 technology.\n\nThe focus will be on how to teach\, especially facilitation
  of small groups\, rather than what to teach or how to develop a curriculu
 m. As a result of this workshop\, participants will be able to:\n\n 	apply
  educational theory to designing effective communication skills training\;
 \n 	describe key components of effective experiential communication skills
  training sessions\;\n 	use role play\, video\, small groups and simulated
  patients to enhance learner communication skills\;\n 	structure feedback 
 to enhance learning in communication training sessions:\n 	and describe st
 rategies for managing large and small group dynamics in communication trai
 ning sessions.\n\nProgramme of Courses\nPlease note this course is not abo
 ut curriculum development in communication teaching or assessment. tEACH\,
  the teaching committee of EACH: International Association of Communicatio
 n in Healthcare\, will also run 2 further courses in 2019:\n\n 	What to Te
 ach in Communication Skills Teaching: Skills and Structure\n 	Challenges i
 n Experiential Teaching\n\nParticipants are welcome to attend several cour
 ses in succession. Participants who are new to communication skills teachi
 ng are encouraged to attend in the order ‘What to teach’\, ‘How to t
 each’ and the ‘Challenges in Experiential Teaching’
