The primary focu s of this course will be on the structure and skills of healthcare communi cation. The course will look at the various models in use to conceptualise health care communication and analyse communication skills in observed en counters with patients. This will help participants:\n\n clarify what the y are trying to teach\n define the individual specific skills of effectiv e clinical communication\n break down the complex task of the interview i nto its individual components\n\nWe will explore communication skills by o bserving prepared videos and work in small groups/break out rooms.\n\nThe online course will be facilitated by experienced teachers from tEACH\, the teaching committee of EACH: International Association of Communication in Healthcare. She is currently the co-chair of tEACH\, the te aching committee of EACH. She has more than 15 years of experience as a r esearcher and teacher in the field of clinical communication and medical e ducation.\n\n \;\n\nAnna Sonkin\nSchool for Medical Communication\n\n\ nAnna is a paediatrician\, palliative care physician\, and medical educato r currently based in USA. Before 2022\, she had been practicing and teachi ng in Moscow\, Russia\, where she established a private company for teachi ng communication skills to healthcare professionals. She is now based in N ew York City and continues to teach and supervise online while working in Global Health to advance childhood cancer care.
