The primary focus of this course will be on the structure and skills o f healthcare communication. The course will look at the various models in use to conceptualise health care communication and analyse communication s kills in observed encounters with patients. This will help participants:\n \n clarify what they are trying to teach\n define the individual specifi c skills of effective clinical communication\n break down the complex tas k of the interview into its individual components\n\nWe will explore commu nication skills by observing prepared videos and work in small groups/brea k out rooms.\n\nThe online course will be facilitated by experienced teach ers from tEACH\, the teaching committee of EACH: International Association of Communication in Healthcare. She is currently the co-c hair of tEACH\, the teaching committee of EACH. She has more than 15 year s of experience as a researcher and teacher in the field of clinical commu nication and medical education.\n\n \;\n\nAnna Sonkin\nSchool for Medi cal Communication\n\n\nAnna is a paediatrician\, palliative care physician \, and medical educator currently based in USA. Before 2022\, she had been practicing and teaching in Moscow\, Russia\, where she established a priv ate company for teaching communication skills to healthcare professionals. She is now based in New York City and continues to teach and supervise on line while working in Global Health to advance childhood cancer care.
