DESCRIPTION:We are delighted to announce a two-module online course over 2 
 separate days focusing on "What to teach" in communication skills teaching
 .  The course is directed towards teachers of health professionals (for e
 xample teachers of students and clinicians in medicine\, nursing\, physiot
 herapy\, etc.)  who wish to explore the foundational skills and structure
  of health care interactions.\n\nThis is a shorter online version of our t
 wo-day annual ‘What to teach’ course that will focus on the basic core
  clinical communication skills rather than specific communication challeng
 es. The primary focus of this course will be on the structure and skills o
 f healthcare communication. The course will look at the various models in 
 use to conceptualise health care communication and analyse communication s
 kills in observed encounters with patients. This will help participants:\n
 \n 	clarify what they are trying to teach\n 	define the individual specifi
 c skills of effective clinical communication\n 	break down the complex tas
 k of the interview into its individual components\n\nWe will explore commu
 nication skills by observing prepared videos and work in small groups/brea
 k out rooms.\n\nThe online course will be facilitated by experienced teach
 ers from tEACH\, the teaching committee of EACH: International Association
  of Communication in Healthcare. The proceedings will be held in English a
 nd as much as possible will accommodate participants for whom English is n
 ot their first language.\n\nPlease note\, this course is not about onlin
 e facilitation skills but rather the content of what should be included in

 nFacilitators\n\nJane Ege Møller.\nAarhus University\, Denmark\n\n\nJane 
 is Associate Professor at Department of Clinical Medicine\, Aarhus Univers
 ity in Denmark and the Academic Lead of the clinical communication skills 
 courses for residents in Central Denmark Region. She is currently the co-c
 hair of tEACH\, the teaching committee of EACH. She has more than 15 year
 s of experience as a researcher and teacher in the field of clinical commu
 nication and medical education.\n\n&nbsp\;\n\nAnna Sonkin\nSchool for Medi
 cal Communication\n\n\nAnna is a paediatrician\, palliative care physician
 \, and medical educator currently based in USA. Before 2022\, she had been
  practicing and teaching in Moscow\, Russia\, where she established a priv
 ate company for teaching communication skills to healthcare professionals.
  She is now based in New York City and continues to teach and supervise on
 line while working in Global Health to advance childhood cancer care. A me
 mber of the Teaching Committee of EACH\, she is particularly interested in
  communication structure and experiential teaching.\n\n&nbsp\;\n\nMember p
